Wick Dangerous Driving Reduced To 3 Points
Our client was accused of driving dangerously by repeatedly overtaking vehicles when it was not safe to do so at speed and driving on the opposite side of the carriageway when it was not safe to do so and taking evasive action to avoid colliding with oncoming vehicles.
This was a serious charge and the Crown case was strong. The witness statements were compelling if a little flowery.
We spoke at length to the Procurator Fiscal regarding the incident and, with some reluctance, the Crown accepted that this was simply a poorly judged single manoeuvre within the speed limit.
Our Mr Simpson dealt with the plea in mitigation when it called at Wick Sheriff Court on 22nd July 2021.
The Presiding Sheriff accepted his submissions and, somewhat unusually for a case that started out as an allegation of dangerous driving, endorsed our client's licence with the statutory minimum 3 penalty points and fined him £300. An outstanding result in the circumstances.
Kept Licence!
