Not Guilty 20 Months After Original Charge
This case called for trial on 3 July 2019 and involved an allegation dating back to November 2017. Summary justice may not always be dealt with summarily and it goes to show the value of our fixed fee for dealing with these cases. The time it takes for a criminal road traffic case to run to conclusion can vary dramatically and if we had been charging by the hour it is suspected our client’s legal bill could have easily been 3 or 4 times in excess of the fixed fee agreement.
The result was an acquittal after 20 months had elapsed following the original charge.
