Glasgow Collision With Child

Kept Licence
Glasgow Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client, a thoroughly nice man, was driving in inclement weather and missed a red traffic light. Tragically, a young child was crossing with his mother at the time. Our client's car struck the young lad causing him to fall to the ground to his injury. Our client remained at the scene until an ambulance arrived. The police arrived too and our client was charged with dangerous driving

We reviewed the evidence in the case and took detailed instructions from our client on the mechanics of the collision. Our view was that it was a low speed, low impact, momentary lapse of attention as opposed to dangerous driving.

A plea to careless driving was offered and accepted by the Crown.

Our Mr Simpson attended at Glasgow Sheriff Court on 25th September 2024 and addressed the Court in mitigation.

Our client's licence was endorsed with 6 penalty points and he was fined £600.
