Glasgow Causing and Permitting Offence New Driver
Our client was charged with causing and permitting another driver to use his vehicle without a licence and without insurance. The driver crashed our client's car into another car causing damage and then fled the scene leaving our client to carry the can.
On the basis of what he told us had happened we advised him that a Not Guilty plea should be entered. The case thereafter followed its usual course through the Court.
We investigated the case thoroughly and having perused all the evidence in the case we were struggling to see how the Crown would be able to prove the case against him.
We contacted the Procurator Fiscal's Office in Glasgow and spoke to a prosecutor. Following our discussion, the Procurator Fiscal's Office in Glasgow correctly decided to pull the plug on the case. Consequently, the case did not call for Trial and our client's driver and criminal record remained unblemished.
Our involvement in this case entirely made the difference to the outcome.
