Dumbarton Collection Of Charges

Kept Licence
Dumbarton Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Our client was spotted speeding at 59mph in a 30mph limit in inclement weather conditions. When the police caught up with him, he was hurriedly concealing drugs into his pants. He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit and possession of drugs.

We spotted an insurmountable difficulty for the Crown in relation to the accusation of driving under the influence. That was promptly dropped, as was one of the drugs charges.

Following several months of negotiations, the Crown reluctantly accepted a plea to careless driving and our Mr Simpson attended at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on 26th September 2024.

The Court was addressed in mitigation resulting in our client's licence being endorsed with 5 penalty points and a fine.

An excellent outcome in a case in which our client had faced two separate charges carrying mandatory disqualification.
