Dangerous Driving Tain Sheriff Court Not Guilty
This allegation of dangerous driving within the Highlands and Islands jurisdiction involved an overtaking manoeuvre performed on an approach to a bend and in the face of an oncoming motor vehicle which was being driven by a local Police officer. The Police officer claimed he had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. The case proceeded to trial and the Sheriff, having heard the evidence and considered the drive-through video obtained by the defence, acquitted our client of dangerous driving and opted to convict of the lesser charge of careless driving (which our client had always accepted).
