Dangerous Driving Outside Football Stadium
Our client was prosecuted for dangerous driving having allegedly driven towards to police officers who were on foot, causing them to leap to safety to avoid being run over.
This was, of course, utter nonsense. The streets around Ibrox Park were thronged with supporters en route to a match. Our client was deftly navigating a sea of people and unbeknownst to him, two officers had emerged from behind a parked ambulance and then stepped back.
It was a 'nothing burger'. Our Mr Simpson attended at Glasgow Sheriff Court and spoke to the Procurator Fiscal. A plea to careless driving was accepted. Our Mr Simpson addressed the Sheriff in mitigation. The Sheriff agreed with our Mr Simpson's assessment and endorsed our client's licence with only 3 penalty points (the statutory minimum).
An outstanding result where he originally faced a mandatory minimum disqualification of 12 months.
Kept Licence!
