Dangerous Driving 106/60 Found Not Guilty After Trial

Kept Licence
Aberdeen Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court

Remarkably, the Crown insisted upon a prosecution for dangerous driving in respect of (an accepted) allegation of driving at 106/60 on the M74.

The driving did not meet the test for dangerous driving and we advised our client to plead Not Guilty and defend the accusation.

The case called for trial on 28th January 2025 with our Mr Simpson in attendance.

Police officers were rigorously cross-examined and, following legal submissions, the Sheriff was persuaded that the driving was careless.

Our client's licence was endorsed with 8 penalty points and he was fined £615. His licence and his job were saved.
