No Insurance Charge Dropped

Our client was originally charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance and using his mobile phone whilst driving. The most serious charge was the charge of driving without insurance as it could have lead to a disqualification under the totting-up provisions. We successfully persuaded the Procurator Fiscal to drop the charges of driving without insurance and driving without a licence. A plea of guilty was tendered in relation to driving whilst using his mobile phone and his licence was endorsed with only 3 points, allowing him to continue driving. The result also ensured that our client's employment was not jeopardised as he required to be able to drive for business purposes.
