Careless Driving and Two Speeding Charges Licence Saved
Our client was facing three separate offences: careless driving; and two charges of speeding.
We were given the very simple instruction to retain our client's licence. The careless driving was actually fairly serious and caused the most concern.
We were able to mitigate that charge and his licence was endorsed with 4 penalty points and he was fined £200.
In between this charge and a speeding charge our client received a fixed penalty for speeding. Our advice was that he could simply accept that following the outstanding result with the careless driving charge.
That took him to 7 points and his final case called at Falkirk JP Court on 24th November 2020. This was an allegation of speeding at 50mph in a 30mph limit.
Our mitigation had to be tempered to reflect the situation that our client now had 7 penalty points on his licence. The Court accepted our mitigation and endorsed his licence with 3 penalty points and fined him £200.
We were thus able to fulfil our initial instruction and our client's licence was saved.
