Cannabis Drug Driving 4.5 Times Limit Minimum Ban

Our client was involved in a road traffic collision (which was not his fault). He was breathalysed and passed and thereafter was swabbed for drugs. He tested positive for cannabis, was arrested and he was taken to the police station where a blood sample was taken.

The results came back showing that he was 4.5 times the limit (9ug where the limit is 2ug per litre of blood).

There was, unfortunately, no viable defence in this particular case and our focus was on mitigation.

Our Mr Simpson appeared and addressed Glasgow Sheriff Court on 3rd September 2021. Our client was disqualified for the statutory minimum period of 12 months and fined £200.
